TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME— GREETING:
KNOW YE, THAT I Samuel Canfield, & Sabrina [Davenport] Canfield wife of said Samuel, of the town of , Geauga County, & State of Ohio, For the consideration of of Five hundred Dollars, received to our full satisfaction of Joseph Smith Jr— of the Town of , County of , — and State of .— do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto him the said Joseph Smith Jr. his heirs assigns— the following described tract of lot of LAND, situate in . — Township No. Nine,— in the ninth— Range of Townships, in the , in the State of , and which is also in the County of .— and is known as parts of— Lot No. twenty nine, & forty one and is bounded as follows, to wit:forty two, as deeded to Samuel Canfield, & is bounded as follows, to Wit: Beginning at the centre of the highway lately laid out in the north line of land deeded to Samuel Canfield: thence west sixty six Rods to a post; thence south fifteen Rods to a post; thence south 58 degrees west nineteen Rods to the lot line; thence south along the lot line 8 Rods to a post; thence East parallel with the north line sixty nine Rods to the Centre of the highway, thence bounding on the centre of the highway northerly to Mr. Young’s northwest corner; thence west Eight Rods to a post; thence North Eight Rods to a post; thence East thirteen Rods to the highway; thence northerly bounding on the centre of the highway four Rods north & south to the place of beginning; Containing thirteen acres of land, Subject to all Legal highways.Be the same more or less
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Joseph Smith Jr.— his heirs and assigns forever, to their own proper use and behoof.—And also, I— the said Samuel Canfield.— do for myself & my— heirs, executors and administrators, Covenant with the said Joseph Smith Jr. his heirs, and assigns, that at, and until the ensealing of these presents I was well seized of these premises, and as a good indefeasible estate, in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same, in manner and form as is above written—and that the same is free from all incumbrances whatsoever.—And furthermore, I— the said Samuel Canfield. do by these presents, bind myself & my— heirs forever to WARRANT AND DEFEND the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Joseph Smith Jr, his heirs and assigns, against all lawful claims and demands whatsoever.— And I the said Sabrina Canfield— do hereby remise, release, and forever unto the said Joseph Smith Jr. his heirs and assigns, all my right and title of dower in and to the above described premises

Personally appeared Samuel Canfield & Sabrina Canfield to me personally known as the Signers and Sealers of the above instrument, and acknowledged that they did voluntarily sign and seal the same, and that the same is their free act and deed.
And I having fully made known and explained to the said Sabrina Canfield the contents of the above Deed, and having likewise examined her separate and apart from her said husband, she declared that she did, of her own free will and accord, volutarily sign, seal, acknowledge, and, as her free act and deed, deliver the same, without the force, coercion or compulsion of her said husband, and that she is still satisfied therewith. before me at Octobe 1— 1836
